Ask Shannon: What would you say is the most important thing a person should know or do before embarking on a home renovation?

As they say, renovations are one of the most stressful events of a person’s life. Understanding this going in is important. Managing the stress involved in this exciting yet chaotic time is important to making it through.

Remember that your project is an investment! Not just a financial investment, but also a personal investment that will improve the quality of your family’s life for years to come. Daily frustrations of your project are inevitable but keep in mind that your long-term goals are well worth the temporary discomfort and stress. At times it will seem like there is no end in sight, but if you plan well and work with an experienced and trusted team of professionals, your goals will be accomplished.
